Sure, it’s terrifying that 2023 is halfway through, but new PC games are as good a consolation as anything. June’s immediately popping off with two massive launches, Street Fighter 6 and Diablo 4 releasing in the first week alone. Don’t forget the future, though: It’s the-season-formerly-known-as-E3, after all. Be sure to check out our summer 2023 showcase schedule so you can keep current on the games coming our way.
Of course, we’re in the age of game delays, and we’ve only seen more during the pandemic years. It’ll be no surprise if a lot of these games get their release dates knocked back for some extra polish. If they’re lucky, it’ll just be one delay. Not all of them are lucky.
Still, even if some of these dates are tentative, 2023 is shaping up to be a huge year—particularly for RPGs. A lot of major releases and long-in-the-works sequels are targeting this year: Starfield’s delay has us waiting for launch until September, Baldur’s Gate 3’s early access is planned to end with a full release in August, and of course Diablo 4 is scheduled to turn up too.

Biggest new PC games this month
June’s celebrating the year’s halfway point with a front-loaded lineup of massive releases, thanks to some returning royalty. Each a hallmark of their respective genres, Street Fighter 6 and Diablo 4 kick the month’s door in with back-to-back launches. But whatever your tastes, June’s got something for you: Looking for a dating sim with a Fallen London twist? Try out Mask of the Rose. Need to start your summer with a farm sim? Play the series that inspired Stardew when Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life hits Steam.
