Pretty big news coming from the Game Awards (where Elden Ring won GOTY). We got a trailer for Transformers Reactivate. This is a new game from Splash Damage. Unlike most (if not all?) previous non VR Transformers video games, this one is first person. It is an online multiplayer game where you can play with 4 other players. For those interested in sighing up for the beta, you can sign up at this site: https://www.playtfr.com/
This game will be for PC and consoles. We thank all the wonderful fans who brought this to our attention.

For toy fans, we have already had listings for toys from this game, though we do not know what any bot designs look like yet.

Here is the trailer:

More like Destiny/Anthem from what I gather. But yes, definitely band wagon type.

nah man, real-time strategy similar to Age of Empires.

Well this is all rather exciting! The multiplayer side of things doesn’t excite me but the first-person but and setting does.

Toy listings? Then I’m excited for those too!

So could this be the game those cutscenes belong to? The two that were leaked and almost immediadely made private a month ago. Rise and Reactivate have a similar Ring to them.

Hmm… that Optimus I could believe, not so much the Megs / Bee unless they’re fairly early concepts. They don’t really seem to share the design aesthetic with OP or the trailer IMO – I’m looking at details like the hands and comparing to the POV shot at the end of the trailer. OP has a AAA hyper-detail look to him that fits that shot; the others don’t. (Note that the hands seen in the trailer are black with yellow panels, so very likely Bee.)

I just hope there’s enough single player stuff to do, it being primarily online focused makes me worry for its longevity but I’m probably overthinking it. Either way it’d still be nice having a lot of solo stuff to occupy myself with.

Interesting, new TF video games are always welcome. I do wish it was more geared to single player but that seems to be the way of things now. Looks good though.

At first I was like, First Person Shooter? Nope.
Then I saw ghuman faces and I was like nope.

Then I pressed play and I was like, wow this actually looks very promising!
The whole idea that the perspective rises above the humans and seeing the robot arms is very cool!
I think I saw Ratchet and a version of Bulkhead or movie Hound. Unknown non-Transformers aliens invading.

This looks fresh guys!

Only huge problem I have with this is online multiplayer.
That is where games go to die, They tried an online shooter with Transformers years ago > dead
They made a Legacy of Kain game online (which is a story driven franchise) > dead

This is going to die and without the servers you can’t even play against AI by yourself offline.

This is all assumptions of course. But if this has good gameplay and story, man I hope they retool it to be a single player version or somesort with a story / big skirmish mode offline.

And hopefully on consoles, my pc can’t play modern games.

If you pause the trailer around the 51 second mark you can see Shockwave’s body on the right hand side of the screen. I’m very excited to see more from this game.

Oh goodie, another product of us not being loud enough, who could’ve predicted this.
This is what happens when we let them make whatever they think makes money.
GIVE US A GODDAMN OPEN WORLD 3RD PERSON SHOOTER GAME.

Fallout/GTA style Transformers game with a great story where the action is on Cybertron. That would be a dream game.

Yes, I very much agree. That is the game I want, also be nice if it was a MMORPG where I could make my own Transformer character. This new trailer seems ok, but it didnt really show enough to say.

Hmm, thought I might have gotten the news credit on this one since I sent the news in yesterday 3 minutes after the trailer was put on YouTube. Guess not.

A story from Insider Gaming suggests otherwise, although it is from before the official reveal:

The supposed free-to-play third-person MMO is expected to release in 2023 and has taken inspiration from games like Destiny, it was said.

What would work best would be a hybrid approach where you go third person for vehicle mode

I’d love the option to change (hehe) the camera – based on the trailer I’m inclined to think it’s at least first-person.

Mind you it’s all moot for me as my PC likely won’t run it and my wife and I are still on the last gen of console!
